The Canadian Super 7 lotto had it’s last drawing on Friday 18th September 2009, it is to be replaced by a brand new
lottery called Lotto Max which we will be bring you details of very soon.
The Super 7 lotto began it’s life in June 1994 and fast became the most popular lottery in Canada, it was drawn every Friday night, using a matrix of 7/47 and paying out down 7 prize divisions.
Throughout the Super 7 campaign it had various catch phrases such as “Unleash the power of the Super 7!” and “Because you can! With this Friday’s Lotto Super 7 jackpot!”
The final drawing gave one lucky person almost $24 million, an higher than usual jackpot as ticket sales went through the roof because the prize money was guaranteed to be won.
Definatley the end of a era for a very popular lottery but we look forward to introducing the new Lotto Max and hopefully plenty of big winners.
Most people in Essex have heard of
Michael Edgar but not for his recent Thunderball lottery win - for stabbing his wife to death in 1986.
Edgar has always maintained he was provoked into the attack by his wife Deborah who was 27 at the time, saying she had taunted him at a disco, the attack happened at the couples home. After denying murder and claiming diminished responsibility Edgar got just three years when the judge belived he was full of remorse.
Years later and Edgar has rebuit his life, he remarried has four children, works for a building firm and recently won £250,000 on the Thunderball Lottery!
He says he is over the moon with the win which he will use to treat the family to a holiday with, he says it is not enough to retire on but it will make a difference to their lives.
Do you think Edgar committed the crime and did his time so deserves his win or do you think criminals should be exempt from lottery wins?
Ticket sales are hotting up for the EuroMillions mega jackpot draw which is going to take place tonight Friday 18th
September, however you still have a few hours left if you haven’t bought one yet.
The game is exactly the same as the normal EuroMillions, the only difference is the jackpot which is standing at €100 million almost seven times greater than usual.
Don’t forget that EuroMillions has twelve prize levels so even if you don’t win the jackpot you could still be in for a substantial pay out, the actual odds for winning a prize is 1 in 24.
People from nine countries – the UK, France, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Ireland, Portugal and Switzerland – are playing the game, but you can play and win no matter where you live, online right here!
The Bulgarian National Lottery is under investigation after the same set of numbers was drawn twice, the first draw was on the 6th of September and the second draw on the 10th of September.
The numbers drawn were 4, 15 ,23, 24, 35 and 42, and although drawn in a totally different order the numbers were the same, lottery officials are now claiming that is is just a coincidence.
Mathematicians are saying that although extremely unlikely to happen it is infact quite possible and the odds of it happening are one in four million.
The most interesting part of this story has to be that no one won the first draw but a record breaking 18 players all shared in the second draw winning 10,164 leva each.
Now… I am all for coincidences and I do accept that the any combination of numbers has the same chance as any other at being drawn but something seems amiss here, there is going to be an investigation into the draw and the results of that investigation are expected to be announced in a week, I look forward to seeing what the outcome is.

Current lottery news is all about the mega EuroMillions draw on Friday, €100 million is up for grabs and the build up is
getting hot.
We told you yesterday about the cute Sea Lions choosing the numbers for the staff of Knowsley Safari Park, well shoppers certainly had their heads turned in Durham yesterday as Europes tallest man, Neil Fingleton got out and about around the City centre bus station to chat to commuters and promote the draw.
Neil is 7f 7in and over £1 million tall if you stacked up £50 notes, he bought two tickets for himself in the hope that he will not only be Europes tallest man but the UK’s biggest lottery winner as well. Shoppers were intrigued to meet Neil who admits to his height having advantages and disadvantages, he felt very proud to be part of the promotion for what could be a record breaking draw.
Huge jackpots like Neil don’t come around very often so make sure you are part of it, with that amount of money you could set up your friends for life as well and by buying a ticket you will of course be contributing to all the good causes that EuroMillions supports.

I am sure you are all aware that EuroMillions has an estimated jackpot of €100 million for the draw this Friday 18th
September and I’m sure you can all come up with some wierd and wacky ways to pick your numbers but staff at Knowsley Safari Park have made a splash by getting some inmates to pick the numbers for them.
Biffo and Max the resident Sea Lions like nothing more than to dive around in their pool having a game of football so twelve members of staff have taken advantage of this and got the pair to choose the numbers for them.
Biffo and Max dived into the pool containing footballs with the numbers on, they retrieved themelves a ball and while balancing it on their noses the staff made a note of the numbers that the Sea Lions choose, the numbers will be the ones the staff will use for the draw, 7 and 3 are the lucky stars.
The staff are keeping their fingers crossed that Biffo and Max are the luckiest Lions around and promise that should the numbers come in they will be treated to a very special fish supper!
I’t dosent matter how you choose your numbers of course as long as you choose some because as the saying goes you have to be in to win and with €100 million up for grabs this Friday I for one will not be missing this one.

Well, I waited with baited breath to see how Derren Brown correctly predicted the lottery numbers last Wednesday but the hour long programme last night left me more confused than ever……. I think!
He claimed he did it by using guesses from members of the public, saying it was based on an old trick which tells how a crowd of people at a country fair accurately estimated the weight of an ox when their guesses were all averaged out. However maths experts are saying that this is complete nonsense and utter rubbish and that he must have done it some other way.
Many people are still believing that the stunt was a result of TV wizardry and others have their own theory, some are even angered that they have been conned but me, Im not mad I just haven’t a clue! Derren finished off by saying “What you choose to believe is up to you.”
Personally I enjoyed the programmes, I found them very interesting, even though it was it seems just entertaining twaddle!
